Unabridged Audiobook
Obviously the content of this book is great, as it is Sherlock Holmes. However, the narrator also did a wonderful job in reading the story. He provided different voices for the different characters making the story easier to follow, as well as having a good voice. This title is worth downloading and listening to. Enjoy.
great book. no wonder the author is so celebrated . the narrator puts a lot of effort into his reading, top marks to him although the American accent does slightly disapoint.
Great book, excellently read. Very much enjoyed it. Many thanks to the narrator for this fantastic job!
Very interesting and captivating! A classic novel of years gone by.
I loved the book. The reading was ok just did not like how he pronounce advertisement
excellent audio book - could have benefited from being narrated by an Englishman
Beautifully narrated and pleasant to listen to. However, I was sometimes distracted by the American narrator's pronunciation of the names of places and people incuding that of the book's author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Good short stories but didn't expect it to be all over the place like that with no central storyline. The reader did a decent job but there were some words that he pronounced wrong and it annoyed me every time he said them.
Great writing and fascinating characters especially Holmes himself. Narrator Mark Smith is very good but would be even better if he were able to use an English accent since all the characters are from England.
Enjoyed every one of the stories. I agree with other reviews in that a British accent narration would have made this even better.
Loved this book and the narrator did a great job with the different characters which made this book easier to follow. Wonderful!
Fantastic read, loads of personality ! Reader did a fantastic job with voice and character changes. Interesting stories set in Europe at the turn of the century. Looking forward to more reads by this author.
A excellent listening and the narrator was very clear. I give this a 5 star to both the book and the Narrator.
great stories
Was a good listen
Quite the book
This was a great read, the the narrator was a little odd with the way he portrayed Holmes
Love Sherlock.
Excellent book and outstanding narration with different voices and expressive way of presenting events and emotions.
Great stories and narration was good listening
Good reader and good stories!
The narrator is so good. I was lost in the stories. I could listen to him read me stories all day. I love Sherlock but the narration can make or break an audiobook and this was top notch.
I really enjoyed this book. Who isn't a fan of Sherlock Holmes? It was great having 12 different stories. The narrator was excellent.
I had to stop listening because the narration was so robotic and monotone that I couldn't even focus on what is a phenomenal text
Love this book
Classic of English literature. Impossible not to award 5 stars. The narrator was also excellent. Tripped up slightly on the pronunciation of a couple of the London locations, but that’s just local knowledge. The cadence & rhythm of the narration was perfect.
Excellent narration and fun stories!
A classic indeed !!! Loved the tone , the dialogue , the lexicon … the humor … but specially loved the narrator … excellent job …
Terrible narration! Does nothing to enhance enjoyment.
Enjoyable. Well read. I will listen to this again several times. Great for road trip
Enjoyed the read
Great stories and good narration. The narrator used different voices for characters which a big plus!
loved it! wany to see more like this!
Sherlock Holmes is always a good listen.
Great collection of stories, very enjoyable. narration was lacking, they tried to hard creating voices and Holmes sounded more like a screechy strangled witch.
Very interesting. Great way to stay awake while driving!
great.
please rethink a narrator from the south, for a fan this hurts to listen to
Go check out Narnia it bettet
The reader does a great job compared to some of the other free audio books we have listened to. He doesn't just read, he acts out each part!
Always enjoy stories about Sherlock Holmes !! Love how he is so Observant of small clues ! This book was handy as each story had it’s own track!!
A splendid collection of adventures!
Very entertaining. I loved how the author used emotion and expression in his reading
Always l loved Sherlock books for years
What a classic book! Excellent stories told by a skillful narrator.
Sadly ,yet once again the reader has not learned how to pronounce English towns cities and areas. Otherwise we’ll read.
While the stories were great the narrator was down right horrifying bad. I dont think there was a worse english accent around, along with the inability to use different voice for all the characters. This made the book unlistenable.
Great stories, really enjoyed them. Clear narration but always a shame when American voices are unable to pronounce the names of places in the stories...Streatham, Grosvenor Place being two. Also, the narrator’s inability to pronounce any French words correctly which makes it hard to understand the story until you manage to get your head around what he’s trying to say! Sherlock Holmes really should be voiced by an Englishman but hey ho, I loved the stories!
Enjoyable
Good book
I liked it but the narraratir didn’t do much for me. He read fairly slow and didn’t use much expression. Not the best narrarator
