Unabridged Audiobook
Well, a sobering, historical walk through the ups-n-downs of the monetary system of the United States in relation to itself and internationally. The author also walks the reader through present times (2019 book published) and extrapolates out a surreal, grim outlook if the system were to collapse. The author is kind enough to encourage the listener to take stock of where one is at, and advise on how to keepan eye on being preared should a collapse occur. And, also to take hope that even with a collapse, society most likely will revert to a "pre-1870's agrarian society without cars, phones, running water, or electricity." This means functionality can begin the resoration process by those willing to 1) cooperate, and 2) have skill sets appropriate tothat retro era. While this is dire, it is more likely that a flat out apocalypse. That being said, while this book is technically an easy listen (not a lot of lists, so one can multi-task while listing), it is VERY heady with a lot of global economic terms and tying hundreds of years of economic/global history together into a single thread--which means no distractions, and that chore had better be all labor if the listener is planning on comprehending.
An absolute must read to better understand our current situation today.
Really good book. A lot of technical information. Unfortunately the narration is SO bad. I wish Audiobook had smaller gradations in speed adjustment like .9 1.0 1.1. etc. i had ti rewind and relistena lot because one speed too slow, the next too fast. The information really is great, so I recommed toughing it out through the bad narration
