Unabridged Audiobook
If you want to see a positive review, this isn’t it. I struggled through this as soon as Ajay’s story was cut off. As a first generation American of Indian descent, this book was ridiculous. A young Indian woman drinking and smoking with her parents?? Lol. I felt like the author was going for shock value rather than a good plot. The excessive descriptions of drugs and alcohol were boring. I didn’t enjoy the character hopping - I wanted more of Ajay’s story. Neda’s portion struck me as very “50 Shades” in the brand-labeling all over the place. And the ending with a huge chapters-long monologue by some new dude before ending it with… what, hope for a sequel? I guess they’re turning this into a show on FX, but I completely disagree with this comparing to The Godfather. Props to the narrator for doing a great job distinguishing each character with different tones and accents!
