This book was amazing! By far we're on the best books I've read or listen to in a very long time!!!!
Worth the read.
Great reading sometimes could not wait to continue. Intelligent and stlll full of suspense - great narrator who lets the characters grow before your ears. Loved it.
Crude and Vulgar. The characters had the morals of a dog.
I thought the storyline was good but I found the narration grated on me sometimes, the voices (accents) didn't always sound natural . Maybe would have benefitted from having male and female narrators.
I love Kate Quinn novels! The Alice Network was great from beginning to end.
I could listen to these books every day.
Loved how the characters and story line developed. Enjoyed the narrator. In my opinion, she was able to Differentiate the characters with her accents. Highly recommend
Slow start. I wanted to give up so many times but after you finally make it through the weird bits you understand more and it gets more interesting. I will say I was pleased that it finally picked up. Good piece to go to in order to combat boredom.
So cool! Such a creative and captivating story
I love the storyline and I could wait to see what was going to happen. I normally don’t read books about different eras. I think this is now become one of my favorites.
Excellent! One of the best.
I loved this book and the narration. It was an entertaining escape filled with action, romance and revenge. I look forward to listening to Kate Quinn's other books.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, couldn’t stop listening. Best book I’ve listened to for a long time.
The Narrator was FANTASTIC! Trying appreciated her commitment to the characters!
Excellent book and an eye opener for learning about the critical, important and often overlooked role women played in the history of World War 1 and World War 2. The characters are well developed and I will never forget their strength, resilience and courage. An added bonus is how talented the narrator was at bringing a voice to these unforgettable characters!
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time! It contains everything you need in a storyline!
Great listen. Interesting history. Narrator excellent- doers various accents really well.
My mom recommended this multiple times and I was taking a break from war romances (my favorite genre) but I’m sooooo glad she persisted. Why this book isn’t a movie I have no idea. It is so well written you will be swept up into the story from the get go. And, The characters are each so flawed you will love them. The narrator was the perfect choice!
This book was very good!!!! Highly recommend . Narrator was awesome
A spectacular historical fiction. I could not put it down. It gets into the nitty gritty of spying as a woman. I also enjoyed the narrator.
Slower start, but great overall.
Book was really good but Narrator should not try to sound like a male. Other wise she was doing a great job.
Clever convergence of plot lines. The pairing of old spy and college-age mom-to-be was less so. How valued were these spies any way? Support with facts instead of pathos. Finally, why didn’t the bombing of the train succeed?
This was a literal "can't put it down" novel. Really good. It has one of the best literary villians I have come across in a long time too.
I chose this book in the hopes of being able to make a recommendation for my mother-in-law’s Christian book club after their raving review of another war-time novel. As much as I enjoyed it myself, I didn’t feel it would be an appropriate recommendation due to its graphic crudeness. I could definitely have done without Charlie’s chapters as I found her character profoundly annoying and resented being constantly pulled away from Eve’s thrilling storyline. Overall, however, a fascinating read!
I love this author, so I enjoyed this book immensely. The narrator is exceptionally talented. As she darts through the different accents, it really helps engage in the story.
Well written The narrator does a good job. Not too slow not too fast.
I really liked this book. I enjoy reading about women's roles in the wars. Just goes to prove that women can do so much there than what is expected of us, still to this day.
This does an excellent job of keeping a brisk pace while still giving details to create a mental picture of each scene. The intertwining of the two timelines is balanced and they add to the intrigue of the other. I have recommended this book to anyone who will listen!
Great read, great narrator, I enjoyed it a lot.
One of the best books I've ever listened to. Great story with fictional characters and real facts.
Interesting take on both World Wars and the things you had to do not just live but survive even after it was over
I loved this book. Couldn't wait to get to the end and I wanted more.
I enjoyed the story but being British found some of the pronunciations difficult eg. Khaki and enquires. This was only my third audio book so I am still getting used to hearing books in other voices than my own in my head..
Both the story and narration were wonderful, a riveting tale with a completely unexpected ending. Definitely worth the listen!
Loved it, worth the listen
Great story, well narrated
Really enjoyed this book, it really painted a picture...
I enjoyed the story and the narration. I will probably listen to it again.
Great book! I was enthralled with the story and narrator was easy to listen to.
Loved the story line & the characters. Narrative very good.
The book was good and I enjoyed reading about the history of the wars and scenery of France. I did not like the character of the American girl and I did not like reading about all their drinking and sex.
I enjoyed the story and the narration. I loved the French accents and picturesque images you formed as you rode through France with the narrator. The story of the spies was fascinating but the other story was boring and a little annoying. I kept waiting to get back to the spies. Worth the read but could’ve cut the girl from the states out and finished the story.
Intriguing book from beginning to end. The author doesn’t give everything away all at once and the book is very well written.
Narrator is excellent, almost like a radio drama
Excellent history mixed with fiction.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought the narration was good and really brought the characters to life. It is going to be one of my favorites.
No thank you.
Worth a credit nice and light read. The characters were engaging and realistic. The narrator was quite good and I normally don’t enjoy a female voice so much but found she took me into the story
Extremely well done
One of my favorite books so far, loved every minute of it.
Such a great read/listen. I loved the fictional characters weaving into fact.
Gripping and suspenseful
I really enjoyed this book. Narration is top rate. I listen to a lot of historical fiction. This was super fun.
Simply enthralling and unputdownable! Can't fault it.
Loved how the characters intertwined throughout the two different decades
This book has it all; historical fiction, spy work, coming of age and love. It was captivating from the very beginning all the way through. The narration was on point.
Interesting read and narration was good
This book was really good! Best book I have read or listened too!
An enjoyable listen.
Love this book
