Summary
When she closed her eyes, she was back in that apartment again-shivering, shards of glass around her, her hands stained with blood . . .

Six years earlier, Trina Grissom disappeared, on the run for her life. Now living under an assumed identity-as Samantha Marsh-she still struggles with the dark secret she harbors and the fear she might one day be found. When she moves to the coastal town of Rarity Cove, South Carolina, to open a cafe, a handsome widower begins to chip away at the walls she's built to protect herself.

Mark St. Clair lost his wife two years ago in a tragic accident. Head of the grand St. Clair resort, he distracts himself from his lingering grief by running the family business and caring for his troubled young daughter . . . until a beautiful restaurateur sets up shop in town.

As Samantha and Mark begin a hesitant courtship, double perils emerge. Someone from Samantha's lurid past comes calling, threatening to expose her. And a powerful hurricane is forming in the Atlantic with the small beach town in its path. Trapped in the storm by the brutal man who wants vengeance on Samantha, she and Mark must fight for their lives.

I picked this title on a whim, I'm glad I did. narration was good as was the story. The story works well, good characters, An other read complained if the gratuitous sex & violence. couldn't disagree more. not too much of anything & worked well with the story & not vulgar in anyway. Im going to try the 2nd title in the series.

This was an enjoyable book, but I really hate all the graphic sex we are putting into everything. We all have imaginations, we don’t need to be voyagers in someone else’s bedroom. Nor do we need graphic violence. The narration was pretty good, but the mother was sickening! This author is worth reading, but they don’t need all the trashy content.

This might have been a good listen, but unfortunately the narrator was so monotonous that I struggled to actually enjoy it.

A vanity press publication, I assume. Plodding plot stretched far too long. Was this an early attempt at AI narration?

I really liked this book. The characters were well built and it kept me wanting to see what would happen next. I love when a story keeps me wanting to hear more.

There was an inevitability to this book - the plot was really obvious from the start. Having said that, I enjoyed it. The narrator fell short though, in that she really overdid the Southern accents I thought. Still a good romp in the park. Not a classy book but ok

Loved the story. The author is excellent with descriptions and writing of emotions. It pulls you into the story immediately. The audio was fairly good as well. I had no problem with the narrative. There was a good texture to her emotions as she read.
