Summary
While most of us worry about the steady onslaught of old age, Benjamin Button had a much more odious dilemma. Benjamin was born, in all appearance, as an old man. Follow the pleasurable tale of his life as he grapples with the problem of constantly getting younger.

Note: While the movie by the same name, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchette, featured spectacular visual effects, it was only loosely based on the short story and actually only seems to maintain the concept of a man aging in reverse direction. Don't be surprised to find an entirely different story in the original work by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Good book and great narration

The narrator was a good fit for the story. The way he read made the story come more alive.

I really enjoyed this short story and listened to it in one sitting. The narrator was fantastic and gave the book just the right amount of emphasis and emotion. I would definitely recommend this title.

The narration good although the book is different from the movie, I like the book a little better I was, however, disappointed in the fact that the book didn’t seem to have an end, but I guess that’s just Scotts Fitzgerald way of writing

Loved it! Didn't like the film at all. This, the original story, provokes much thought as well as providing a hint of the social history of the time it was written in. I highly recommend this.

I’m not really sure what to think of this story! It is very creative, that’s for sure

A wonderful short story giving the reader an opportunity to think outside the box n accept people as they are. We’re all prejudiced in one way or another and sadly stories like this creates even more prejudice sunless the reader opens their mind and hearts. A good read.

Whilst I loved the film, the original work is fabulous! The Narrator brought it all to life.

Very interesting to know the actual story Fitzgerald write. Lots of differences but both the book abs the movie are thought provoking and powerful.

The story was intriguing and possibly the era in which it was written made it even more difficult to fully engage with today. The strange phenomenon going on with the main character might have been fascinating if more deeply developed.

The narrator was good. He wasn't droning on, although it did definitely sound better sped up. The story was amazing.

This book was clumsily written with lots of plot holes. Characters were 2 dimensional and unbelievable. Watch the movie instead it!

Started with an engaging fairy tale quality, but slowly took on a more serious note. It left me wondering whether the author was simply taking his tale to its logical conclusion or if there was a “message “ that I somehow missed. Definitely thought provoking.

Narrator was great for the story, but story itself was not as good as how I expected it to be. I didn't feel as sympathetic towards Benjamin. I actually felt more empathetic towards his father. If you want a quick read for an hour car ride or something, this is great. But to hear something to evoke some emotions, this is not the type of read for that. Either way, if you liked the book or not, the movie was fantastic-highly recommend.

Cool story

Cute short story, that would have been a better full length book with more detail. The author had a great premise that was wasted with mediocre writing. Book didn't elicit enough sympathy or empathy for Benjamin's situations. The movie was better.

Book is not as exciting as the movie . It read fast so there was not a lot of meat in it

I didn't expect to enjoy this book so much. I had this dramatic perception from the Hollywood movie, but this book was different from that. It started off humorously, and I love how Benjamin still lived with dignity and confidence during his early days. The end of the book still ends nicely and peacefully as he slowly grows younger and younger. A great short story by Fitzgerald!
