Unabridged Audiobook
This book was a "page-turner" if I had been reading it as a regular book. The author does a great job of telling a compelling individual story and at the same time weaving in the larger narrative about what else was happening in the world around the same era. The considerable research and sleuthing that went into creating this story are easy to see and much appreciated. I have a tiny quibble with one of the data points that is undoubtedly a typo that should have been caught by a sharp-eyed editor. It's on p. 96 of the written book and it's in the chapter called "What Shall We Do With Our Daughters?" if you are listening to the audiobook. See if you can do your own sleuthing and figure out what I'm referring to!
