I found it interesting as another take on Roman history of this period. Only shortcoming I think by covering such a long time period and economic, social, religious and war events the author can't spend enough time on one event or topic so major events and figures only given in highlights. I did enjoy the different analysis of each gospel and bible book. Comparison of Mathew vs Luke or Mark and I didn't get any notion of the author confirming his belief or outright opposing all belief. Very objective take on the historicity of events. I believe this book is good but requires previous knowledge of the events or further reading after this book to truly understand all the facets of such an amazing time period

Even with my favorite narrator Grover Gardner the audiobook was lacking in substance
