Unabridged Audiobook
Good
Spooky and well read.
Really enjoyed this story. I thought it was much better written than Stokers Dracula
Excellent narration of a classic.
The Reader was very good
I initially picked up this book because I feel in LOVE with the story and characters through the recent modernized adaptation of the YouTube series that was made under the same name. In the book, the characters I feel in love with still held true to the essence of who they were...however, the events of the storyline the ending are vastly different. I guess that is what happens when you modernize and expand upon the limited original source text. This is not to say I didn’t enjoy the my time “reading” the story but that it was a different experience. I still love the characters and the overall plot; however I found the book to be very short and to me read like the beginning of their story as opposed to a complete storyline. I felt jaded about how quickly the story came to an end as the character building taking up much of the book’s pages and then the last two or three chapters holding a rapid succession of events and quick epilogue. Additionally, the relationship between Laura and Carmilla/Mircalla seemed to fall a little flat at times and could have been further flushed out. I thought the narrator did a great job taking use on Laura’s journey and I wouldn’t mind picking up another book voiced by her.
