Summary
With Wizard's First Rule and seven subsequent masterpieces, Terry Goodkind has thrilled readers worldwide with the unique sweep of his storytelling. Now, in Chainfire, Goodkind returns with a novel of Richard and Kahlan, the beginning of a sequence of three novels that will bring their epic story to its culmination.

After being gravely injured in battle, Richard awakes to discover Kahlan missing. To his disbelief, no one remembers the woman he is frantically trying to find. Worse, no one believes that she really exists, or that he was ever married. Alone as never before, he must find the woman he loves more than life itself....if she is even still alive. If she was ever even real.

my favorite series of all time

Why is this one so repetitive? For every minute of new story there’s like five minutes of recap. I don’t remember ever skipping forward In previous books. But in this book, I’m hitting that skip forward button every two minutes or so. If the future books are like this, I think I’ll have to abandon one of my favorite series.

Enjoyed the book and the narrator. There is a lot of recaps in the book but enough new developments to keep you listening.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Previous reviews said it was poorly written but I found it to be one of the most exciting of the series. So many twists and turns and riddles to solve. I could truly feel all the frustration and emotions of the characters and thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Phew. Read the reviews of how repetitive this story is. They are NOT lying. That is what hurts this story the most. But as we head to the end, that is what makes it all so disappointing. It gets things on the right track from the Naked Empire and Pillars of Creation, but that's not enough to save it from its own mistakes.

Heart wrenching at times, feeling the hopelessness that Richard has to go through, but a great setup for the "last" three books. Narrator did a great job, MUCH better than the first book he read in the series. To him, i say thank you, you helped bring the world to life.

Personally I found it very annoying that everything was very vague at the beginning of the book. Other then the obvious story there wasn't much happening this book compared to others. Nevertheless the story kept getting more and more interesting as it went on. The narration was amazing and I can't wait to see how the story plays out as the books go on.

Better than the last two but a really weird ending

**********. SPOILERS. *********** Shota's rambling about how there's no pattern to how the blood beast attacks was mind numbing... How are the sisters of the dark able to use their powers in the People's Palace? Don't make sense broham..

After returning to this beloved series after almost a decade, it's a shame to realise just how terrible the author is. Repetitive, dull, and lazy writing drivel on for over 24 hours of stretched out story. An ode to Ayn Rand, this book is as obnoxious as Ayn herself. Even the narrator seems bored to tears.

I've so enjoyed revisiting this series once again.
