Unabridged Audiobook
it seems to be an attempt to clear up some hear say stories about the Texas Rangers and his information in this book for the most part is based on hear say. It is exactly what I would expect a Stanford graduate and College Professor in Pittsburgh to write about Texas History. Texas frontier history is brutal from all accounts Indians, Mexicans, Bandits, Outlaws, Settlers and Rangers. The government the people of Texas and the United states asked anyone they could find that was brave enough to go into the frontier in situations where they were outnumbered and overmatched for little or no pay providing their own horses guns and supplies. Texas and all of the frontier in those early years were brutal and deadly for all involved no matter whom you are speaking of and to judge anyone of them having not experienced the brutality first hand is fundamentally dishonest and not worth the paper it is written on.
Fantastic honest history. The narrator spoke well!
