Summary
Creating 'true narrative magic' (The Washington Post) at every revelatory turn, Stephen King surpasses all expectation in the stunning final volume of his seven-part epic masterwork. Entwining stories and worlds from a vast and complex canvas, here is the conclusion readers have long awaited—breathtakingly imaginative, boldly visionary, and wholly entertaining.

Roland Deschain and his ka-tet have journeyed together and apart, scattered far and wide across multilayered worlds of wheres and whens. The destinies of Roland, Susannah, Jake, Father Callahan, Oy, and Eddie are bound in the Dark Tower itself, which now pulls them ever closer to their own endings and beginnings...and into a maelstrom of emotion, violence, and discovery.

Wow. Best book series I’ve ever read/listened to, although it’s saddening and bittersweet to have finally reached the end of the journey with Roland and his Ka Tet. I think I’ll start over and go through the books a second time but to read the books instead of audio. I’m puzzled by the 2 instances where Roland feels lust for his mother, and it was just as weird in this book as when he mentioned it the first time (in book 5 or 6). I really wonder what makes King decide to throw that type of stuff in there… Oh well, he’s an incredible tale spinner anyway.

i had read all these books before i decided to revisit through the audio platform, the eyes betray you after so many years. to be immersed in Roland's world again was both joyous and sad. knowing the ending but reliving the journey. the final book came out when i was 28, now 46. you see it through a different lens. thank you Mr King.

Only Stephen King could create such a vivid and amazing work and bring it to an ending as such. You are a master of your craft. I thoroughly enjoyed each novel of The Dark Tower and have others listening as well. I'm sad that this was the last..but what a way to end. Never saw it coming. Superb!!

I cried throughout knowing this was the last book in the series. It was heartbreaking to know the series was coming to an end. I loved it. Simply loved the series and the characters. Stephen King is amazing.

I read this when I was young, and enjoyed having it read to me nearly as much. As a “constant reader” in my youth I love the way King calls back so many of his other stories in this sweeping epic.

Yes, unfortunately SK seems to be a Freudian, but you can squint/cough into your hand and overlook the brief "mother" references. The audiobooks in 2023 were my second time through the full story after reading them in 2003-2004. When you know what's coming at the end it forestalls any disappointment. A worthwhile endeavour, no doubt. Guidall is just as good as Frank (Gan rest his soul.) Looking forward to Mike Flanagan's streaming/film adaptations.

The story was predictable. The characters had no depth.

Amazing novel but I feel that the ending to such a long and detailed story was rushed. Unexpected nevertheless but rushed. Clamp together so tightly that it didn't have room for battles with the most epic enemies so they where cut short. All the previous book are wonderful and very detailed
