Unabridged Audiobook
I enjoyed this book, kept me guessing. it did end a little quickly! The narrator was good.
This was a strange "who-done-it?" The end was a surprise, I didn't have it figured out until the killer was revealed. I just couldn't get used to all the characters seeing and talking to ghosts! The narration was good.
This is not my usual kind of book I like to read and I ended up really enjoying it. Intriguing for sure!
Gave up on this story too boring. I thought the narrator did a great job though.
Great Civil War history. Loved the ghosts. Story was roo slow and predictable. Fast ending--no fun.
The book is too slow for my style. I had trouble listening to narrator.
Weak plot, plodding narration. All the action in last twenty minutes of book. Narrator had same voice for all characters. Book was a free download and overpriced at that.
Some cool settings, some silly (easy to skip) romance sequences, a hint of some cool history, and a frustrating ending.
This book was super corny, like a soap-opera soft-core porn type read. I'm sure some people would love it but I found it repetitive and the ending wasn't that great. *Spoiler alert* the killer wasn't mentioned until you found out who it was at the end. Like why do I care he did it? I don't even know who that character is??
I kept listening mainly because I wanted to see "who did it" but it was an effort. I live in the south and thought the accents were way overdone. I love historical fiction but not make believe ghost soldiers. From the other reviews, apparently others enjoyed it but it wasn't for me.
Great history lesson, dragged a bit with lots of characters to keep track of. A little cliché-ish, but kept me company on a couple long drives. Narrator had too many voices to do with so many characters, kind of ran together.
I enjoyed the book. The near ration was great and the story was white and suspenseful.
I was bored to death! I feel like I am more informed on the civil war now but this book was not for me! One big history lesson! No thanks!
Why do so many books spend so much time on in depth details then end abruptly! This was good story ...civil war buffs would enjoy ....but ended so quick after laborious details.
It was a good read however, it kind of dragged on.
Storyline was interesting enough, well-written, but nothing too special. Nice book, but I lacked some more original or exciting turns in the storyline. Narration, in my opinion, was great. He managed to use different voices for different characters so that it was possible to recognize a character based on the voice. Sometimes I couldn't really believe that it was just one person.
Long drawn out begining, now with an hour to go, interesting but not a must read.
I really liked the book. The storyline was interesting and kept me intrigued. Being from Louisianna we have 3 distinct accents and the ones the narrator used did not capture them. His accent was more of Georgia or east coast southern accent. The poor accent took away from the experience.
Enjoy, very well written and draws you in from the beginning.
Draws your attention from the first minute!!!! Really enjoyed the entire book.
Poor scenario.
Predictable! I kept on waiting for something exciting, but nothing ever came. The narration was annoying.
It was a pretty good book but the end summed up so fast that it almost seemed a little anti-climactic. The reader did a decent job but if you are going to have characters based in the south then have someone with a genuine southern accent read the book. His bad attempt at an accent cheapened the story.
I thought this book was very boring. It started out good and then the plot and details were just dragging and dragging. I even fell asleep during the last chapter.
That was a great audiobook, loved it. Kept me interested the whole time and left great leads to keep me guessing. The ending seemed a bit rushed and abrupt but still a great book.
Just Ok
It was awesome!
It has good reviews that I expected it to be a good entertaining book. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. There was no surprise nor excitement in the story.
it¨s ok
Book was very good. It kept me guessing until the end, I never had a clear impression of who the killer was, which kept me guessing until the end. The narrator did very well with changing his voice per character and it made the book very entertaining to listen to.
