Summary
Small-town cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse has had more than her share of experience with the supernatural-but now it's really hitting close to home. When Sookie sees her brother Jason's eyes start to change, she knows he's about to turn into a were-panther for the first time-a transformation he embraces more readily than most shapeshifters she knows. But her concern becomes cold fear when a sniper sets his deadly sights on the local changeling population, and Jason's new panther brethren suspect he may be the shooter. Now, Sookie has until the next full moon to find out who's behind the attacks-unless the killer decides to find her first

I really enjoyed spending time with the other side of supernatural creatures. Thanks for another great listen!

This book is so different from the show. It’s interesting to listen to a different life for Jason. Love all of the characters and how they are portrayed by the narrator.

I have throughly loved this series. Lots of things happen to Sookie you can sometimes relate to your own life. Johanna does an exceptional job narrating

After the being dissapointed with Anne Rice ending her vampire series I was left with no more vampire books to read, none really worthwhile anyway UNTIL True Blood started playing on HBO, which i totally LOVED, then I noticed it was based on books!!! WOOHOO i thought i'd hit the jackpot! I immediately scoured the local libraries and was immediately smitten with these books! I'm glad they're also on audio, since I drive quite a lot i can have Sookie, Bill and Eric for riding companions! I hope you all enjoy these books as much as I have.

It's the reason I read. I was entertained and sucked right into Sookie's life. I'm not the only neurotic and it was fun.

I rented this book because it had 5 stars. Big mistake. Worst book I have ever listened to. I'm not opposed to strip malls, tract-houses and I certainly could not live without my cellphone. But please, the author treated her audience like they were lobotomized drugged out zombies who would happily listen to any drool. I listened to the whole thing and it was very painful. The person reading it added to the pain.

This is the first book in this series I've read. I really enjoyed it. Now I need to get the rest of the series. I enjoyed Soukie and her friends.
