Unabridged Audiobook
This workbook is a favorite, we both love all the educational info it gives. I believe the education of addiction and why people become addicted, etc is what makes this book stand out from the rest. After reading the first couple chapters, we have a lot more understanding of what we’ve been through and how to handle things that may come our way in the future.
As an addiction counselor for 14 years, I have purchased dozens of books to help plan and facilitate group and individual sessions. Most have been disappointing. Not so with this one! Have looked through entire volume and have already got several weeks planned using the worksheets and ideas from this awesome book. So happy I bought it.
Bought for a loved one trying to beat addiction after thumbing through it on kindle..it seemed like it would be worth a shot for sure. They said so far the lessons are helpful and has things they didn't know about yet and stuff that isn't generally taught in rehabs, so fingers crossed it gives them the tools they need to get off this crap and most importantly, stay off it. I'm feeling optimistic
This is one of the best workbooks I've ever bought and plan to use with my military substance abuse clients
Useful book for therapist. Lesson plan is establish. I facilitate several substance abuse groups
What a great workbook. It so nicely combines some ACT, DBT, CBT, and basic psychoeducation. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it also is incredibly helpful and informative. I have even used it with clients who struggle with conditions other than addiction. I highly recommend this book to any clinician or individual!
Lots of great information! My husband recently completed inpatient rehab, we do a lot of studying and reading together since he’s been home. This workbook is a favorite, we both love all the educational info it gives. I believe the education of addiction and why people become addicted, etc is what makes this book stand out from the rest
As a neurobiologist I wanted to know about the state of knowledge about the neurobiology of drug addiction. This book was a great way to get the overall view I needed from the clinical to experimental and theoretical, However, the authors have a tendency to over-emphasize their own work and theories while insufficiently presenting and the many alternative theoretical and experimental alternatives.
Written to be a graduate level text but very readable just to learn more about the topic outside of a formal university course. Covers the subject topic thoroughly with clear, understandable figures and tables. Recommend for any serious student of addiction science.
