Unabridged Audiobook
I appreciate the difficulty of sharing intimate details of her life with interested readers. As most know, Priscilla was a minor when she began her relationship with Elvis. In many ways, she seems mature for her age, particularly as it relates to her interactions with not just an older man-but an icon desired by women around the world. Fans of Elvis and Priscilla should welcome her honesty in sharing both the loving side of Elvis and the troubling flaws in his character. I was too young to have been part of the Elvis craze so my interest is in the biography of this famous couple.
I feel this just normalizes grooming no matter how she puts it.
Makes me feel a certain way about Elvis.....
if you're an Elvis fan, I recommend this book as its provides insights into his personal life not provided in other media, from the point of view and voice of his wife, Priscilla. She only speaks about the times she experienced with Elvis starting during his military service in Germany, where she met him, until his death. She didn't tell or speculate about his earlier years or the post-Elvis fame and fortune that followed. She does discuss their relationship and his emotions, strengths, and frailties.
Absolutely love, after visiting Graceland this was the perfect book and I learned so much more.
Really enjoyed listening to Priscilla's narration of her personal experiences with Elvis, her giggles throughout were so sweet & genuine & I have a new found respect for her & her journey as a woman in this world. Much love Priscilla xxx
Loved the book and priscilla did an amazing job narrating.
Fun to hear her words.
Enjoyed the book. I recommend. It’s historical. Just kept thinking how did Priscilla recall such details? Looking forward to visiting Graceland after reading this book. Wonder how Rock n roll would be if Elvis was still with us.
I love Priscilla’s storytelling, but I wish there was more introspection and more on her thoughts on what she thinks and feels now that she has hindsight on her side
If you are Elvis fan, may want to avoid. Not sure it is all true but I was disappointed in what author alleged about him.
This was a really good book that was very well put together. I couldn't stop listening to it.
This book gave me an icky feeling. The age gap, the obvious grooming techniques and then her lighthearted giggles as she just chocked it up to him being Elvis.
I could not listen to Priscilla Presley giggle at super inappropriate times of her life.
Excellent all around
Amazing job
Priscilla did an amazing job narrating and gave the story life with her giggles and side commentary. It was so incredibly sad how everyone in Elvis’ life took advantage of him. It makes you wonder if he had better representation and a business advisor what he could have truly become. He might even still be with us.
What a great book that could only be written by the woman who loved him almost all of her life and probably till the day she dies. In the end I cried like a baby for their life that was never meant to be due to pressures of his fame. Priscilla did a fantanstic job of making it personal by narrating herself.
I really liked listening to this book. It was a sensitively account of Elvis's life with Priscilla written in a beautifully respectful way.
I didn't realise Elvis was such hard work to be with. Poor Priscilla being groomed to be the perfect little wife.
Fun read. Sad, but entertaining.
Really enjoyed it.
For years I heard nothing but bad stories about Priscilla, but after hearing Priscilla's story I understand her side now. Great book!!
I never really thought I would be interested in this story but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hearing Priscilla reading it was like reminiscing with an old friend.
I loved hearing Priscilla herself reading her own book. You can really hear the love she had and still has for Elvis. This book tells so many unknown adventures they had…very interesting!
