Unabridged Audiobook
It’s a book that goes through what some empathy can be as a reference not as a “self help”. Gives minimal advice on how to better one’s self but not a book if your looking for actual self help.
This explains my constant cravings to be alone in nature and why I seem to bond so deeply with my animal companions. They get sick when I do and are energetic when I am. It also explains why even though I like people and want to spend time with them, I get overwhelmed at
I have been waiting for this book my whole life without knowing it...To have a word to put to what I am is a miracle!! also the reason why I give this book 5 stars is because it gives actual tools and lets the reader know what is so great about being an empath!
An empath is a person who is naturally endowed with an overabundance of empathy. As I understand the term, a “natural empath” (my term, not Orloff’s) is an individual who is naturally endowed from birth or genetically “loaded” with a deep and extensive empathy, a hypersensitivity to the experiences of others.
I found it helpful for the various emotional vampires and how to combat each one. But most importantly, it was helpful to learn/be reminded that it is OK to set boundaries with people and to say no and to put your own well being first. It was also fun to read the various types of empaths and learn what types I was. I highly recommend this book for any empath at any age.
This is a new journey for me. I've discovered that there are different types of Empaths, some resonate with me, others don't, but that's OK! There is a Facebook support group which is well recommended to join as you are able to contact like-minded people!
Brilliant book! I have just become aware that I am an Empath and this book is clearly written to help me understand the person that I am and it has some very good strategies about dealing with everyday life which I am finding very helpful.
This book is a bible for empaths. I always knew I was an empath but I never really understood what that meant until I read this book. Pure inspiration.
I found my entire family and a lot of my friends in here. I learned why certain things never worked out, why I ended up sick and how I can fix most of that and get well. I’m already healing. There was a bit of a grieving process but so many aha moments. Judith has a lovely way of sharing her own experience , both personally and professionally.

It's amazing! After listening this I now understand several things about myself and my mother that we didn't get before.
