Unabridged Audiobook
This was my first Kylie Scott book and I was blown away. This was an original story concept. The main characters of this story are an unlikely pairing who are drawn together after finding something in a recently inherited house that impossibly seems to have come from the future. This item draws them together, and they each have to overcome insecurities and issues with trust in order to reach their happily ever after. The characters are so very human and the writing paints such a rich picture. Andi Arndt was the perfect narrator for this book and I enjoyed the story so very much. I strongly recommend listening to it. I am voluntarily submitting this review after listening to a complementary copy of this audiobook.
End of Story is such a fun book. Like several others, I was reminded a little of The Lake House, but only a little. This one stands firmly on its own with lovable characters and witty dialogue. The whole thing, from start to finish, has a charm about it that kept me turning pages long past bedtime. This is one of those 'just one more chapter' kind of books because these characters get under your skin and stay there. I was totally invested in Susie and Lars as a couple almost from the beginning. They're just that easy to root for. I also really enjoyed the bit of supernatural-ish storyline. This is a great way to start a series, in my opinion, and I'd recommend it for an entertaining escape from the stresses of every day. The book was already great for whiling away a weekend, and then it's paired with Andi Arndt for the audiobook. I always enjoy listening to Andi Arndt, and when she has such good material to work with, it's a solid win all the way around. Arndt keeps the high energy pace and the emotion comes through wonderfully. Whether you want to curl up and read or listen as you get things done (or maybe a little of both), Kylie Scott's End of Story is a good choice.
