This book approaches the Enneagram in a slightly different way and one which I appreciated very much. The author, after having the reader take the test to determine the numbers for the Enneagram, explains how we become the person that we are. In the back of the book, the author helps us to see how those around us, our community, can help us become more balanced individuals.

The most comprehensive and easiest introduction to the Enneagram. It not only walks you through finding your personality type, it puts you in touch with your relationships to other types, thereby enabling you to honor their perspective and build positive communication with them, whether personal or professional. I often give this book as gifts to intelligent and inquiring people who earnestly want to understand how human interactions work.
The Essential Ennegram lightens it all up for us. It's a book I can give to a curiosity seeker and 9 out of 10 times they come back to me wanting to learn more.
Fascinating approach to a sometimes very Left brain approach. This book is what drives me to continue trying and learning from varied personality test. My favorite test after 40+ years of taking various Personality tests
Enneagram is about discovering your disposition personality type. It is similar to the Myers-Briggs, and yet different. The difference is that the Myers-Briggs is more about development through life that led you to your four quadrants and what percentage you are in each and the Enneagram is something you are born with (the soul of who you are). Now the book opens up that understanding, however, I recommend learning even more about it even after you finish the book.
Love this book! I am currently in a psychology course on career counseling and at first the concept of Enneagrams seem like a mathicmatical equation for space travel..lol Ok so I am exaggerating a bit, but it is very confusing at first glance. However, this book allows a step-by-step process of how to discover your number. Enneagram is about discovering your disposition personality type.
I highly recommend this as an introduction to the Enneagram, suitable for a wide audience interested in psychology, spirituality, and personal growth.
This is a really good introduction to the Enneagram. I've struggled in the past to identify my Enneagram type, and I don't think I would have been able to using the just the initial test at the start of this book.
