Wow! this is one of Stephen King’s most entertaining books! A total surprise! It’s not even my usual genre but I thought I would stray for a bit and I’m glad I didI I just wish he would write a sequel to it. I wasn’t expecting it to be so engrossing and the narration was pitch perfect. The narrator really brought the book to life. I couldn’t put it down . I want more.

The narration is OUTSTANDING! One of the best I’ve heard. A classic story but still entertaining.

I read this book when I was younger and it always stuck with me as a favorite childhood book-so full of mystery and adventure! I had always wanted to read it again as an adult, but this narrator made it much more fun this time around! His voice for Flagg was even more eerie than I had imagined it to be as a child and definitely made the story even more fun to listen to. This had been one of my favorite audiobooks so far! I can't wait until my oldest is just a few more years older so he can listen to it!

I really enjoyed this book. It was well written. The narrator was great. Stephen King should write more books like this. I've always liked Stephen King. I highly recommend this book. Excellent!

King is such a good story-teller, and master of suspense. His main characters are always so well developed and must face their worst fears, one by one. This time, King does it all without the horror and with a touches of humor. I really enjoyed this fairytale.

This is one that I have wanted to read for years, but just never got around to it. A grand story in a long ago age, and a fantastic listen. Another King masterpiece!

This novel by Stephen King was a refreshing departure from what I've read of his in the past. It's a journey to a long ago time where dragons, kingdoms, and magic exist. I was so enthralled I did not want it to end!

One of my favorite King books. Even though it is a fairy tale story it still has the Stephen King feel. Great build up of characters good and evil. This was one of King's first attempts out of the horror genre. Definitely suggest for Stephen King fans. Best reader I've heard so far

A decent fairytale type story but the narrator was a bit distracting from the story, especially when he's screaming at the top of his lungs as the character Flagg near the end of the book.

Kind of simple, but a fun read. Not the usual twists and turns you would expect from King.

I entered this novel knowing absolutely nothing about it nor ever hearing the title before. I was looking for something..different. I had no idea that a tale beginning with "once" could not only retain my attention but thrill me into goose pimply silence awaiting the next word. O this is no fairy tale. I envisioned Peter resembling MacGyver. To know why, ya gotta read or listen. Mr. Pinchot, you scared me when you raised your voice in narration..GREAT JOB!! Mr. King..You can write no wrong.
