Summary
New York Times bestseller Karin Slaughter brings back her two most fascinating and complex characters–medical examiner Sara Linton and her ex-husband, police chief Jeffrey Tolliver–in a heart-pounding tale of faith, doubt, and murder…

The victim was buried alive in the Georgia woods–then killed in a horrifying fashion. When Sara Linton and Jeffrey Tolliver stumble upon the body, both become consumed with finding out who killed the pretty young woman. For them, a harrowing journey begins, one that will test their own turbulent relationship and draw dozens of life into the case.

For as Jeffrey and Sara move further down a trail of shocking surprises and hidden passions, neither is prepared for the most stunning discovery of all: the identity of a killer who is more evil and dangerous than anyone could have guessed.

I love this book, I think it's the best book within the series surrounding Sarah, Jeffrey and Lena. This ending brought me to tears. On another note, I prefer Kathleen Early as the narrator, I just think her voice is much better suited.

I’m really enjoying the Karen Slaughter series. I did find this book a little confusing because there were so many different characters to try to keep track of. I found myself getting some of them mixed up.

Karin Slaughter is my favourite crime fiction author. The narrator is my #1 I could listen to her all day.. My next favourites are Jo Nesbo and Jussi Addller-Olsen. I do love Scandi crime fiction!

I'm workling my way thru all of the Karen Slaughter books and this one is good. Some people complained about the narrator but I thought She did a good job.

Clarissa Ross sounds like she has a cold. It’s annoying! The book is good! Really love the Grant County Series!

I agree with the others; Kathleen Early is a much better narrator. She gives the characters more depth, more sincerity. The book itself was a great continuation to the series. Lena's story is so sad that I hope she finds her happiness soon!

I prefer Kathleen Early as narrator , especially since I listened to the first three books with her as narrator. I felt this narrator Clarinda Ross sounded like she had a cold (nasal and raspy voice). She also had a heavy southern drawl unlike the first three in this series. The book was really good, I'm enjoying this series
