Summary
2014 winner of a Genre Fiction award from Library Journal! After a whirlwind romance, Taryn Young is preparing to board a plane at Houston International Airport, bound for a dream honeymoon, when a bomb decimates the terminal. Injured but still alive, she awakens to discover her husband is missing and they're both considered prime suspects in the attack. Further, the FBI is convinced her husband isn't who he appears to be. Agent Grayson Hall's number-one priority is to catch those responsible for the day's act of terror. All evidence is pointing to Taryn and her new husband. But his instinct tells him her pleas of innocence are genuine. Is her naivetE just for show, or could she truly be another victim of a master scheme, possibly linked to the software she recently developed for her company? With both their lives and reputations on the line, and the media outcry for justice increasing with each passing minute, Taryn and Grayson have no choice but to trust one another . . . and pray they can uncover the truth before they become two more casualties.

This book was just okay. I cannot see myself reading / listening to more books by this author. Some of the story aspects were not plausible. The climax was anticlimactic. Some of the scenes with the ‘bad guys’ needed to be more descriptive. They were built up to be these masterminds and difficult to kill, only to be shot in the head without much conflict. The narrator was fine, but whoever was in charge of editing the audio book, clearly did not do their job properly. There were several obvious outtakes left in the recording.

SPOILER ALERT!!! The book was barely tolerable from the start, but it gets really bad when the main character Taryn is running for her life and meets a random dog in the park, that she believes is sent from God to help her. From there it went to hell in a handbag, because suddenly the the book is more about faith than a smart woman being framed. I don’t mind that a character has faith, but it feels forced and unreal, like the TV series «Touched by an Angel». If you still love that show, then you don’t only have horrible taste - but you might like this book. I am very negative about this book, but that is because I really do mind when it feels like the author is trying to make me Christian, rather than write a good book. I had to stop halfway through the book, because I kept wondering when the torture would end. PS. Narrator was good. Not her fault I don’t like the book.
