I love all of Robert Crais’ characters. Well researched. Well written. Well performed.

I loved the story because it shed light on the enigmatic character of Joe Pike. It was interesting to see Pike take the lead in this storyline and there were so many twists to the story that it really kept me interested throughout. It’s nice that the author read the story. He does a fantastic job. Also, as a native of Los Angeles, it was especially nice to hear the names of streets and locations that are familiar to me. Most of the narrators butcher some of these. I highly recommend The First Rule especially if you’re a fan of the series.

out of the Joe Pike Trilogy this one was the best

Predictable plot. Cardboard characters with Pike as the apex of tedious monosyllabic cartoon heros.

This story with Pike in the center focus is great!
