Unabridged Audiobook
Really fascinating book. Took me by surprise. Well thought through studies and examples. Super interesting. Plus I learnt a few new things. Great narration too.
Well written and narrated making an intriguing subject very engaging and informative.
Very insightful book on the history and current science of neuro-enhancement and neuro-science in general. It covers some quite hardcore eugenics and early mental health attempts at improving humans which is pretty hard to sit through. I definitely had to take breaks, though it's the reality so it would be wrong/irresponsible not to include it. Definitely more for mature listeners however. opened a new door of a scientific field I'm not super familiar with and gives some interesting ideas about where we are going as a species.
The reviews must be fake. The author basically says that you should electrocute yourself .. in a similar way as they do with the death penalty.. to activate your brain so that you might be smarter. Or you can just take drugs to make yourself smarter he says ummmmmm. The author admits to being diagnosed with a mental illness, I’m certain he still has it. 0/10
It was humorous. Classic British wit! Informative.
I gave it about 2 hours. It seemed to be simply stories of electro-shock therapy for the brain. I was hoping that I could wait it out until the stories passed but unfortunately I couldn't. It didn't hold my interest. I liked the idea; it just didn't hook me.
As a science magazine editor the author needs only common sense to determine on which side his bread is buttered.
There were too many long stories that are just related to intelligence in general, and way too much about IQ and its testing. There needed to be more information about "brain hacks." Disappointing conglomeration of info.
