Unabridged Audiobook
I am very disappointed. This story was filled with sadness, broken dreams, and squashed hopes. And even then it would have been okay, if there was some sort of redemption at the end. Why would there be a story where love fails, dreams are shattered, and there’s no light at the end of the tunnel? We read novels because it gives us the sense that yes, life may be filled with so many trials but there’s hope! There’s always hope. It was an absolute waste of time. The narration was fantastic though.
A definite "page turner". Warning: Contains extreme religious practices (snake handling, "beating out sin", etc), and has sexual descriptions and actions of a non-consensual nature.
