Summary
#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER • Saving the world is a test no school of magic can prepare you for in the triumphant conclusion to the New York Times bestselling trilogy that began with A Deadly Education and The Last Graduate.

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR: Paste, Publishers Weekly

The one thing you never talk about while you’re in the Scholomance is what you’ll do when you get out. Not even the richest enclaver would tempt fate that way. But it’s all we dream about: the hideously slim chance we’ll survive to make it out the gates and improbably find ourselves with a life ahead of us, a life outside the Scholomance halls.

And now the impossible dream has come true. I’m out, we’re all out—and I didn’t even have to turn into a monstrous dark witch to make it happen. So much for my great-grandmother’s prophecy of doom and destruction. I didn’t kill enclavers, I saved them. Me and Orion and our allies. Our graduation plan worked to perfection: We saved everyone and made the world safe for all wizards and brought peace and harmony to all the enclaves everywhere.

Ha, only joking! Actually, it’s gone all wrong. Someone else has picked up the project of destroying enclaves in my stead, and probably everyone we saved is about to get killed in the brewing enclave war. And the first thing I’ve got to do now, having miraculously gotten out of the Scholomance, is turn straight around and find a way back in.

Man I hope this is the last book lol, since i started the series I had to finish it. Much respect to one of my favorite authors Naomi Novik but this series was not easy to stay engaged. Overall the book was good as it concluded Orion and El unfortunately, there was still too much self narration, of Els charachter when this was even more an opportunity to get more into Orion. I want to say at least the first two to three hours of this book resided in describing Els emotional state, decision, anger (again for the third book) and indecision. This would have been ok except this is the same thing we have endured hours of during the first and second book. The perspective of other characters were key to saving the storyline of this series. To listen to a more than often angry for absolutely nothing most times teenager to young adult can drive you insane smh. I can say I survived the Scholomance.

This entire series is amazing. Other than the one scene in this book with a questionable Liesel choice, lol (which I get, she’s telling us don’t get attached to El/O love, but still felt weird!). Otherwise just amazing, clearly the whole series was planned from the beginning. Amazing!

All in all I enjoyed this book! Unfortunately, it does not compare to the first two in the series. This book seemed to drag, and end, and then continue, leaving an unclear picture to where the series could go from here. The narrator really brought it to life, and I still generally enjoyed the book! But it feels as if this third installment to the series was forced, or quickened, and did not hold the same engaging content as the first two.
