Unabridged Audiobook
There should be a trigger warning for sexual abuse content... Overall a fun romance story but some tragic back stories brought up often from the main character. Felt like wording was a bit repetitive at times.
“My Summer Sky” I really enjoyed this story, it was well written. Sad and traumatic in some parts, but also happy and worth listening to. Not a huge fan of the narrator...her voice is fine but the speed is too slow. I would recommend adjusting the narration speed :)
Took a while to get into.
The female voice narrator is horrible. I only listen to about 45 minutes before I moved on. Her voice is unsteady and soft.
I struggled to get into this book. The narrator's voice wasn't my favourite and the characters didn't make a lot of sense. There was a lot left hanging and hidden, which felt incoherent and it's tricky to manage serious trauma in a way which avoids demeaning titillation and melodrama. In the end the story resolved very quickly. I did make it to the end but it was just OK.
loved this story and the narrator was spot on.
Interesting premise, but the backstory often overtakes the main story. It didn't need to be mentioned so much. This book should not have been advertised as a romance. Also, Skye was supposedly savvy and had lived through hell, yet she was frustratingly naive, to the point of being a twit. The narrator needs to work on pronunciation of common words.
It could have been good - the story line and characters had lots of depth. Narration was wrong tempo most of the time. Vocab needs expanding.
