Summary
Welcome to his extremely sexy dark side....

Everyone thinks Colin Fairgood is exactly what his PR machine tells them - a country superstar with a killer smile and dazzling blue eyes.

But I met him before his country makeover and fame. Colin has a dark side…one that takes me places I've never been. One that makes me want to do very bad things with him. One that makes me scared of him. And even more scared of myself.

I don't know what kind of endgame he's running on my heart, but he's definitely playing for keeps. And if I'm not careful, he's going to win.

But what will happen when he finds out about my past? And discovers all my secrets?

One thing’s for sure: when country superstar Colin Fairgood collides with me, a songwriter with everything to lose, it’s going to be one hell of a story.

Listeners beware: The first scorching hot, dark, stand-alone romance in the Very Bad Fairgoods series is not for the faint of heart or sensitive. It’s guaranteed to please those who prefer extra-hot loving with a wickedly kinky hero. But seriously, do not click the heat unless you know how to handle the flame!

Listened to the Audio Book version, the Narrator Clementine Dove did a fabulous job. Even though she was reading both parts Colin and Kyra you could still fell the emotions from the storyline in her voice. Colin and Kyra’s story Is super intense, slightly dark, and angsty. Both of them have trust issues, abandonment issues making it hard at times in the story. Colin is a country superstar, broken alpha male, giving off Christian Grey vibes as he loves to assert him self in the bedroom, there are some Light BDSM vibes. Kyra, is tough girl, fought hard to get where she is. She’s a singer, song writer by night and a caretaker by day. She doesn’t trust herself, or others, she has a hard time letting people in, and doesn’t really know herself to well as she was masking herself her whole life. Colin pushes her limits, and she is able to find herself and learn about herself through their relationship. Of course their are outside factors such as lies, deceit, secrets and drama that contribute to the story line that make you want to laugh, cry and get mad at the main characters. But once they both stop being scared, stop fighting, and surrender to love they realize they can have so much more. Would love to see a continuation of these two characters. Would definitely recommend.

Great Story & Narration! Captivating & Superbly Unique! ~ I enjoyed this book immensely, it grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. Theodora Taylor is a “new to me” author, and I loved her way with words and enjoyed her writing style, she created interesting and original storylines and the characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were likable and easy to care about too. I both adored and admired Kyra, spunky and full of personality despite not having the best childhood with her mother, though her grandmother was the best. She crossed paths with Colin Fairgood when she was younger and it was not a good situation for him, thanks to her then secret boyfriend and now ex, Mike Lancer. Fast forward to present day, Kyra, an aspiring songwriter trying to get her break and Colin, a successful country singer, cross paths again. Colin is interested in Josie and has a plan to win her heart away from Beau, whose football career ended because of an injury. Colin recruits Kyra to help him with Josie with a promise to help her in the music industry. Kyra plays along, but she also stays true to herself and winds up doing what she thinks is best for Josie and Beau, even if it may not be what was best for her. Colin and Kyra wind up staying in touch and then he has a proposition for her, one she is not sure of, but she goes with it. I loved all the layers to this wonderfully plotted story and how everything played out, there is a perfect balance of drama, angst, twists and turns, witty dialogue to lighten things up, heartfelt and emotional moments, some kinky kink with a side of D/s and some hot loving. Theodora Taylor, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride, and that scene with her grandmother did me in. I am looking forward to checking out more of your books. ~ And for the fabulous narration, Theodora Taylor could not have cast a better narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Clementine Dove is a talented narrator and a versatile character. She did an amazing job with the character voices, covering both the male and female roles, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Dove had a complete understanding of the characters she portrayed, it was great how she took each role and made it her own and ran with it, sounding believable in every role she played. You could hear how much heart she put into her work as she captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into her performance and had you feeling every single one. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.

I love the way Theodora Taylor writes. Her stories are well-written, unique, and captivating. Her characters are well-developed and interesting. Country rockstar Colin Fairgood is smeggsy as sin. A hardcore alpha male who could give any woman a run for her money. But he only has eyes for Kyra. I absolutely adored her. She has a heart of gold. A do-gooder who can be counted on no matter what. There were a lot of raw emotions in this book that made it that much more exciting. I especially loved Kyra’s grandmother. Everyone needs a southern grandma like her.\r\nClementine Dove was perfectly cast for this role. Her timing, pitch, pace, and tones were great. Her characterizations were just as excellent. Kyra has a rich southern accent, and Clementine did an amazing job depicting that. She embodied Kyra and brought her to life. I recommend the audio version of this entertaining story. Thank you to Valentine PR for gifting me this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
