I consider myself a decent public speaker, I’ve been doing it for 25 years as an officer in the military. I purchased this book for my college aged son to help him learn what I had to do through experience. This book is poorly written. It reads (as narrated) like a generic “how to” that you would find on the internet. It is full of generic comments, that aren’t false, but still generic. It has a lot of words and phrases that are not commonly used, like “hence,” repeatedly. The author uses generic references like, “it has been said,” and, “a lot of people agree.” It appears that it was written by someone with no actual experience speaking to audiences. To be fair, I didn’t make it past the first two chapters, so maybe it gets better. The narration was fine, I don’t really want to rate her.
