Book: In his Father's Footsteps Book Author: Danielle Steel While listening to this audio I felt immense pleasure. It is the story of two world war 2 concentration camp survivors, how they built their life afterwards. Jakob and Emanuelle were saved from the terrible fate of so many camps. In order to survive their friendship and to separate from each other they married and started a new life with poor paid jobs in the starting. Decades later Jacob turned into big business tycoon in New York. His son Max was fortunate enough to learn from Harvard university and be friends with wealthiest people. Also she chooses the best life partner and got settled. Max’s lavish lifestyle is unimaginable to his cautious old-world father and mother. Max wants to follow his father’s example and make his own fortune. But after having children and failing marriage he realised that how difficult it is to live and prove yourself,to set example for anyone specially your children. This story talks about taking courageous decisions, follow your goals, dreams and ambitions in life and be successful..

It started well, but quickly became one of the most boring books I’ve ever read/listened to. I preserved hoping it would improve, unfortunately it didn’t. The writing was repetitive, a whole paragraph saying the same thing over and over, not just making the point but beating it to death. I don’t recommend this book.

First part was very engaging and interesting - followed two young Jews who survived the Holocaust and came to the States to start a new life. The second part, which focused on their son’s life, was very predictable and nothing special.
