Summary
The Invisible Man (1897) is one of the most famous science fiction novels of all time. Written by H.G. Wells (1866-1946), it tells the story of a scientist who discovers the secret of invisibility and uses it on himself. The story begins as the Invisible Man, with a bandaged face and a heavy coat and gloves, takes a train to lodge in a country inn whilst he tries to discover the antidote and make himself visible again. The book inspired several films and is notable for its vivid descriptions of the invisible man--no mean feat, given that you can't see him!

HG had a great imagination but he overlooked several obvious things like invisible clothes, he had an invisible pillow his invisible cat was on so he obviously could make clothes invisible. Why not make clothes invisible first and if that weren't enough then go totally invisible, it would have been so much simpler and the story line could have gone in so many different ways. It seems he didn't think this through very well. i.e. written in haste.

An interesting story from HG. The story is fascinating, thinking about what you could do with invisibility; playing practical tricks on people, getting even, etc. I like a good narrator who can make the story fascinating using different voices and accents throughout the story.
