I know I'll continue to return to this collection of stories in the future. Tim Johnston's writing is immediate and visceral, his language and phrasing conjures full moments in a single sentence (the description of bite marks on a pencil . . .!). And the narration by Xe Sands and Angelo Di Loreto is impeccable - in full service to the stories, unobtrusive and smart, navigating the emotional currents in startling and powerful ways. Story after story left me quietly stunned. I needed to pause the book after each ended, and take a few minutes to gather myself. Immersive, beautiful storytelling
