Unabridged Audiobook
Limitless, by Kaylene Winter is the second book in the Less Than Zero series. It is rockstar romance about Jace, the drummer, and Alex, best friend of Zoey from Endless. Jace and Alex were often together during the summer than Ty and Zoey fell in love, before Less Than Zero hit it big, but Jace avoided Alex because of their five year age difference. That worked for him until the night before he left on tour, when Alex asked him to relieve her of her virginity. She was heading to Europe to travel and he on tour with the band. Over the years they became friends. Their paths crossed periodically but in secret, and something happened to them along the way. I really enjoyed getting another opportunity to visit with the band members of Less Than Zero, Alex, and Zoey. I always find it interesting when an author’s stories within a series describe the same time period and events from different perspectives. These characters are endearing and this couple much more grounded than their friends. Where Ty and Zoey were brilliant fireworks, Alex and Jace were a slow burn. Their chemistry was just as hot, but their relationship is based on hundreds of tiny moments with an underlining foundation of friendship. I liked them much better than their dramatic counterparts. No relationship is without challenges, but they deserved their happy ending. I listened to this book in audiobook form and really enjoyed the way the narrators brought these characters to life. Alexander Cendese isn’t my idea of a rockstar voice, but his earnestness fits the other hats that Jace wears. I definitely recommend the audiobook, especially since there is a bonus Less Than Zero song at the end! I would recommend this book for contemporary romance lovers who enjoy the rockstar trope. The author has penned a truly enjoyable story. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review after listening to an advanced complementary copy of this audiobook thanks to Valentine PR and Rockstar Romance, LLC.
