Summary
Some doors are locked for a reason . . .

While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

Until the day the police arrived at their front door.

Decades later, Nora's father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.

Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.

Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she's not a killer like her father. The police can't pin anything on her.

As long as they don't look in her basement.

Great story but the narrator was cringy.

The story was not so bad, but the narrator was awful! Her voice was terribly annoying and irritating.

Narrator was horrible! It ruined the book for me.

I feel like Velma from Scooby Doo was narrating this book.

Barely interesting, felt like it jumped around a bit. The narrator was hard to listen to with a higher pitched voice that didn't vary much for each character. Don't bother with it.

Good thriller, enjoyed the story - didn’t work out who had done it until it was obvious. Narrator’s voice was very irritating.

I only got 5 minutes into the book and had to stop. I’ve read several titles by this author, and I’m sure I would have enjoyed this one as well. However, the narrator was the most annoying thing I’ve ever heard. I cant even describe it. Very odd inflection. Every sentence sounded like someone doing a very bad impersonation of a news broadcaster.

I tried very hard to listen to this story, I think the book could have been a good one, but the narrator was terrible - all monotone for the most part. No differentiation between characters!

The book was amazing. The narrator, however , was horrible! The most annoying voice with very weird inflections. I almost didn’t finish the book…. But Freda McFadden is hard to walk away from.I will definitely make it a point to look at narrator reviews before I purchase in the future- wish I had saved this one to read
