Forty years after the Oblivion crisis, the empire of Tamriel is threatened by a mysterious floating city, Umbriel, whose shadow spawns a terrifying undead army. Reeling from a devastating discovery, Prince Attrebus continues on his seemingly doomed quest to obtain a magic sword that holds the key to destroying the deadly invaders. Meanwhile, in the Imperial City, the spy Colin finds evidence of betrayal at the heart of the empire-if his own heart doesn't betray him first. Great read, if you enjoy the elder scrolls games.

Very good. Only criticism is that it doesn’t really feel like the same world as the games.

Gregory Keyes's skill at characterization and capturing the senses makes for a vivid and engaging story, but his ability to capture the strange and wonderful universe of Elder Scrolls is what blew me away the most. if you're a fan of this franchise, this two installment series will give you more than you ever thought to ask for. Michael Kirkbride himself was involved in threading the lore perfectly throughout this book and the last, making it canonically accurate, and it extrapolates so much on Argonian culture! A great book for the uninvolved, but an ASTOUNDING book for those in love with TES.
