This is a wonderful slow-burn romance and it's done exceeding well.
We get to see these two woman getting to know each other and going from a slight dislike to a companionable working relationship.
I loved the pace of the story, the description of the travels and the different places and experiences they live through and that make them closer. And I love how the very distant professor slowly thaws and the distrustful assistant learns that love is not always a lie nor it always lead to betrayal.
Extra points for Nicole's family, I really love them. And the narration by Abby Craden is excellent.
