Summary
Jordan B. Peterson's Maps of Meaning is now available for the first time as an audio download!

Why have people from different cultures and eras formulated myths and stories with similar structures? What does this similarity tell us about the mind, morality, and structure of the world itself? From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

This is well thought out thesis, detailed facts, compelling evidence for the opinions, organized logically, and provocative. In reality I've always found Peterson to be well spoken, obviously I have a bias in favor of the narrator.

Peterson is brilliant. He was interesting as a pop phenomenon and YouTube sensation but listening to his serious work gave me a whole new lever of respect for him.

Better than 12 rules for life. This book is much more foundational and insightful than 12 rules for life. It may be that in the future, this is the book than will define Peterson's academic career more than any other publications he has made and will probably make.

The parts of this book that I was able to understand were profound. This was a hard listen, it requires your full attention and even then concepts were beyond my cognitive abilities. I will be buying a physical copy of this book so that I can make notes and try to get a grasp on some of the ideas that I found overwhelming while listening.

An essential book to read before we begin to read any book on phenomenology of meaning and belief systems Mr Peterson seems to tackle some very juxtaposed yet universal issues surrounding phenomenon of belief so effortlessly with so humility that we seem to feel almost like talking to oneself in the mirror, it's almost like meditation.

Thank you Jordan. Hard to follow but that's why the word "study" was invented.

Incomprehensible indoctrination into tradCath fascism cloaked as "philosophy" -- this is right-wing propaganda catering to young white men who desire guidance without having to digest any hard truths or confront themselves. Poisonous waste of time! If you need this kind of guidance you're better off getting a hobby like gardening or woodworking. Read literally anything else
