This book was better than I thought it was going to be. I don't know what I was originally expecting but I was pleasantly surprised.
Way too many useless sound effects. Terrible use of both music and sound effects.
Solid story. Kept moving where some Star Wars novels get a little slow. You do need to be a little of a geek to appreciate some of the back story but it’s not over the top. Narration is very good. Only complaint is consistent with all Star Wars audiobooks—too much sound production. A little background noise is fine, especially during battles. But the constant droid noise and beeps and nonsense is too much. Some of the more important dialogue exchanges are ruined by unnecessary nonsense that doesn’t help create a Star Wars experience
I'm enjoying this background story of count dooku and qui gon gin and obi wan Kenobi. I find it amusing though that even though this story is set years before the events of the phantom menace however at different points in the story it sounds like tie fighters flying through. Lol all good though.
The best star wars novel

What could have been a great addition to qui gon and obi wans back story turned into a angry relationship between Master and apprentice, and random adult themes thrown in. This book takes away the likeabilty of the duo, and that's a negative.
This was my first Star Wars novel and what a starter. Claudia Gray is excellent! I'm excited to read more from her!!

I love it and it my two favorite character about obi wan and qui gon.
Excellent set up to the the two jedi!
Great to learn more Obi-Wan backstory, and of his relationship with Qui-Gon. Also, havng seen Rise of Skywalker, can report that a prophetic element in this book describes a plot point in the film.
Love anything about Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan
