Summary
Discover the love story that captured over 20 million hearts in Me Before You, After You, and Still Me.

They had nothing in common until love gave them everything to lose . . .

Louisa Clark is an ordinary girl living an exceedingly ordinary life—steady boyfriend, close family—who has never been farther afield than their tiny village. She takes a badly needed job working for ex–Master of the Universe Will Traynor, who is wheelchair bound after an accident. Will has always lived a huge life—big deals, extreme sports, worldwide travel—and now he’s pretty sure he cannot live the way he is.

Will is acerbic, moody, bossy—but Lou refuses to treat him with kid gloves, and soon his happiness means more to her than she expected. When she learns that Will has shocking plans of his own, she sets out to show him that life is still worth living.

A Love Story for this generation, Me Before You brings to life two people who couldn’t have less in common—a heartbreakingly romantic novel that asks, What do you do when making the person you love happy also means breaking your own heart?

I love the story, it just needs more depth into Will's perspective of the situation and feelings. The narrators were great, but needed a better break between people's chapters.

I loved this book, I was really hoping for a happy ending but knew I was grasping for straws! I think the narration and story telling was great! This was a very good representation of disabled patients and their care givers, I hate that he made the choice to die but understand that Lou couldn't change his mind. I knew that it was leading to a heartbreaking end but still held hope! Will recommend!

I loved the narrator of this book!

I couldn’t put this book down! The characters were really well developed, and the story line was compelling. It was incredibly poignant as I had a younger brother who suffered a serious ranching accident 2 weeks before entering med school. He lived only a week, but even in that short week it was difficult to imagine life after. The narrator was outstanding!

This book is absolutely amazing but the narrator isn't so lovely. She sounds too old for Lou and is very slow, I have to speed the reading up. Amazing book though.

Well, I found this book a little tiresome - seemed like it took a long time to get through. I thought the book raised a lot of interesting themes and was thought-provoking, somewhat. I only have a couple of minor quibbles. I had a hard time relating completely to Louisa. I wanted to smack her a couple of times for her inability to wake up and do the logical thing right in front of her. Second was the jumping-around of the narrators in the audio book specifically. I found it distracting. It took me out of the story trying to adjust to a new voice and their nuances for each character. The ending was good - kind of where you knew it was heading since earlier on. After I finished I watched the film and was completely thankful for having read the book first. Overall, a decent story. I'm not sure how long it will stay with me, but was a decent way to pass time.

I absolutely adored this book! It started off a bit slow and boring, but as the chapters ended I grow eager to hear more! This is not your typical love story and encourages you to accept that our happily-ever-afters do not always end the way that we want them too. I highly recommend this read!

Profile Avatar
Courtney Buckley

Took a chapter or two to get into the book, but I was completely hooked! Narrators voice however didn't seem to fit the character I would recommend a paper copy rather than the audiobook because of it.

Profile Avatar
Gennevie Taylor

I was kind of bored the first couple of chapters, and the narrators' voice was a bit older sounding than I thought it should be, but once it got into the more interesting parts I really didn't mind. I loved this book, heart wrenching but so good. It's so much different than a regular love story. Also, I think there are underlying life lessons to it. Give it a read.

Profile Avatar
Vanessa Carley

I saw the movie trailer for this and then learned it's based on book, so I had to check it out! This had me wanting to throw my head back and cry to the ceiling of my office... but then I'd look crazy :) I thoroughly enjoyed this! It really makes you see how life can be viewed from a quadriplegic and how their daily struggle can effect their loved ones. This was a very touching love story, with a fresh take on unconditional love. I was rooting for Will and Emilia the whole way the tough trials their hearts were put through. Definitely recommend this for a listen.

Loved loved loved this book! Mislead by a job post Louisa initially meets Will with the impression of working together. Little does she know Will's disabilities would turn her into his daily caregiver. Louisa is a sassy young girl who although knows her place in the household is constantly pushing Will's limits not only physically but mentally. The ending was the only part I disagreed with and that was due to the fact I wanted it to keep going!!
