This book tends to drag in places, and isn't as polished as some of Crichton's other books. And "honey, I shrunk the scientists" isn't exactly original. Having said that, I find myself far more interested in soil, scents and bugs than I ever would have believed possible. For that I am most grateful, and am willing to overlook some of the weaknesses of the plot in turn.

Micro reads like a cross between Honey I shrunk the kids and Land of the Lost. If they ever make a movie it would be a good candidate for Mystery Science Theater. Good naaratoon might have made it a little better, but we don't even get that.
