Set in Regency-era England, Mischief offers a sparkling mixture of wit and intrigue that has become Quick's trademark. Beautiful, headstrong Imogen Waterstone has recruited the darkly infamous Earl of Colchester to help her seek revenge for the murder of her best friend. As they set a trap for the villain, Imogen and Colchester fearlessly encounter the threats and dangers that come their way. But they are both unprepared for the dizzying passion sparked by their partnership. Amanda Quick's light, breezy style captures the sophisticated nuances of the 19th century British social world that surrounds these two unconventional allies. Good story with several layers of mystery mixed with romance. Very entertaining read and narration was excellent.

I really liked the story line it was complex but not so complicated that it was hard to follow. This is one where I love the Herald much more than a heroine. I thought Imogene a bit tedious. Her clumsiness and arrogance were quite annoying. Nothing about her was particularly endearing, yet the storyline was so interesting I had to keep reading it. I kept waiting for Mathias to finally put her in her place. The twist at the end was a surprise that I didn't see coming. The narrator was excellent.
