Richard Paul Evans is one of my favorite authors and his books never disappoint. Everytime I receive one of his books I usually listen to it multiple times before returning it. The readers are always good to and you know which character is speaking. This is the first time I have read a book that referred to another book, The Mistletoe Promise (excellent book too). Both books take place around the holiday and the writing is not to wordy, keeps moving and keeps your attention from page one to the end. Loved it and would rent again. Last I would recommend The Walk series of 7 books from this author, it is a wonderful series.
The story was inherently predictable; the characters flat; and the plot development obvious -- all very interesting, considering that the book was about effective writing. The story was not bad so much as trite and seemed to insult my intelligence as a reader.
The narrator's voice was annoying. I'm not sure how or why, but it grated on me.
