Unabridged Audiobook
Narrator has always been good despite the syrup of arrogance dripping from his “know-it-all, no one can pull one over on me” phrasing. In this book, his voicing of the child characters is ridiculous and embarrassing. And unless a person is intentionally naive to the current trends of the “artworld” in its many forms, it is blatantly evident that the author has checked the required boxes, ad nauseam and at the front, in order to get this barely mediocre book published. What makes it better or worse, depending on the type of person you are, is that Pat Rothfuss has taken full advantage of this for significant profit. Sorry Mr. Rothfuss, you can’t be “woke” and a capitalist at the same time; unless you are a hypocrite, which most of us are, being both flawed opportunistic beings who otherwise would not have made it this far up the evolutionary chain.
So beautiful and otherworldly. I can’t wait to hear more by this author.
