Summary
Northanger Abbey is a hilarious parody of 18th century gothic novels. The heroine, 17-year old Catherine, has been reading far too many "horrid" gothic novels and would love to encounter some gothic-style terror - but the superficial world of Bath proves hazardous enough. (Summary by Kara)

While appreciative of the services the narrators are giving, the use of multiple narrators and their amateurs quality make this early work of J.Austen even more coarse. It's at times hard to connect who was doing what.

Did not enjoy the book as much as I thought I would

Enjoyable and entertaining story. However, the use of multiple narrators, each of different skill/quality, detracts from the overall enjoyment of the book. In particular, chapter 4 has a poor technical quality, sounding hollow and distant. Chapter 5 is read by a narrator with a very heavy but pleasant sounding accent. The quality of the narration prevents me from truly enjoying this book.
