Unabridged Audiobook
Got this book because I was curious. What could someone have to say about nursing that was sooo long? Cannot believe some of what I heard. Not really remarkable things about weird patients, but more so of the lack of respect and compensation for what I view as being a very good job fraught with all kinds of responsibilities. Then, have to be honest, because I was ashamed to say that I too have had the thought of "Why don't you go to med school rather than JUST being a nurse?". Am ashamed that I ever even had those thoughts. Fortunately, the book set me straight. And lucky for me, a mom at a dinner for one of my kid's activities happened to tell a group that she was a nurse. I immediately thanked her, told her about the book, and thanked her again for all that she does. Was totally worth it! She was beaming! I will now make it a practice to thank nurses and buy them coffee whenever they are in line at a coffee shop just like I do for policemen and firemen. You are all angels!
This book is spot on! I I love being a nurse but it can be very difficult most of the time. I wish all management would read it.
I have been a nurse for 24 years. This book was so accurate I felt like I could have written it. I love being a nurse but it's also one of the hardest jobs I think you could ever get. But I don't want to do anything else.
