Unabridged Audiobook
This book was written 70 years ago and yet many of the stories are still pertinent because human nature and darkness are still with us. I remember some of his stories as retold or revised on 1950s and 1960s shows I saw on television on Alfres Hitchcock and the Teilight Zone, or movies like The Omen. If you liked those stories, you should enjoy The October Country. The narrator was excellent.
Don't get bogged down by the first story. Skip it if you must (I did) but if you don't quit on the rest of the book you will be rewarded. The theme of the collection is death and these are classic Bradbury - beautifully written and just a touch unnerving. Good narration as well.
I don't know what others are talking about, this book was a very boring listen.
