Unabridged Audiobook
Generally useful, also for the biographical information on the clerical as well as fascist protagonists.
As a World War II History buff, this is a topic you hear about from time to time, but I had no idea of the rabbit hole it took. I’m grateful to historians like Kertzner who had the time and patience to go through releases Vatican records as well as Fascist police reports of the time to document this controversial story. The book is enjoyable only in that I love all the detail, and it encourages me to get a physical copy so as to go through what I’m sure is an incredible amount of footnotes. The narrator’s voice takes a bit of time to become accustomed to as he has a very deep bass, but at 1.25 speed it was easier to listen. Plus I feel his tone is worthy of a book this deep. Highly recommended.
clearly well researched and detailed work
