Masterful work by both the author and the narrator! Robert Moses is important by himself, but the book is also valuable for Caro's wealth of information about politics and urban planning. I listened to 60+ hours without tiring of Dean's narration.
For years I'd known that this classic biography existed. I thought I should read it, but I never had time to read 1,300 pages. Over the past several weeks, on trips to the store etc., I've finally caught up with it, thanks to Audiobooks. I'm glad there was no abridgement, too.
Amazing narration. I loved the "Moses voice"
Very long but your interest is held the whole way.
packed full of information . good listen
fantastic book, but way too low in volume. Even the sound all the way up, using headphones or not, plugged into external speakers or not, it's barely passable if you're perfectly still and don't have competing external sounds. If you're moving or outdoors, it's not workable at all.
