Summary
Elara can pull the stars from the sky . . . literally.

Afraid of what the Warlords of Minloa might do to her, she hides her powers. Until she can't anymore.

Discovering her past and the bloodlines she possesses, changes everything. She's much more important to the Seelie fae than she ever dreamed possible.

But her carelessness with the stars brings invaders from another universe-invaders with technology far surpassing the Seelie's, demanding Elara return their star. She must protect her world, her warlords, and the universe from these humans, or die trying.

Contains mature themes.

Overview: Elara is a seelie fae with a bit of a rough past. Her current life, everyone wants to fight her. Having escaped slavery, she just wishes for a better life. To be loved and accepted. The book opens wonderfully with Elara nearly being killed and her secret past being revealed. The Warlords in charge of protecting the seelie probably should fear her, instead they’ll do anything they can to protect her. Why choose, reverse harem with a great narrative. Characters: One thing I hate about harem novels is that a lot of the characters quickly start to sound exactly the same. That’s not the case here. Banks does a good job of giving everyone their own personalities. Setting: A thousand (or so) years ago, after a long fae war, the Warlords took control of districts to bring peace. While this world is fae, modern concepts and terms are used. It’s easy to forget this isn’t exactly our world. Style: RH with mildly steamy content. Overall, it's a very simple plot and fun to fall into. This isn’t a crazy life altering book, but I greatly enjoyed it. I had fun seeing what would happen next and enjoyed the story. There’s not a lot of complexity, but that’s not needed for every book. The ending is a cliffhanger, and I look forward to seeing where the next one will go. Taking in what kind of book it is, and how much fun I had with the characters, I'd give it a 4.5/5
