Summary
Things I never planned on happening in my life: getting married, being a mother to a house full of kids, and returning to my small hometown in Texas.

I especially never planned on seeing Tucker Monroe again. Sexy smile. Country charm. A man and a life I left behind for a reason.

The only plan I had for myself was my career.

My career as a buyer for one of the largest high-end department stores was the only commitment I had time for. The only one I was willing to make.

Now, being left with no choice but to return to my hometown, I’m finding it hard to remember why I left in the first place. Because all that’s on my mind is Tucker. He is just as sexy. Just as charming. Just as dangerous as he used to be …

This was my first read from this author and I really enjoyed it. I was a little surprised this was book 1 because I often was a bit overwhelmed with all the characters that I thought I missed something in previous books, but I guess those stories come next. Second chance romance is one of my favorites and this one was done very well. I was very interested to find out what destroyed Lottie and Tucker the first time around and how they could put the past aside and figure out their future. Lottie had left town long ago, but she is back due to some unforeseen circumstances. Lottie is forced to face things that were left unfinished for years. Tucker is sweet and still in love with Lottie but can he convince her to live the life that he is living? I don’t always enjoy stories where one of the characters has planned to leave town because I always wonder if the character really gets what they want in the end. But Melissa wrote these two characters that actually worked through their problems and their differences. I think it was one of the sweetest reunions at the end because they were both truly happy. The audio was narrated by Erin Coker and Ski which were both new to me. They did a wonderful job keeping my attention. They were able to keep the steam as well as the laughter. They brought life to these characters and made the story seem very real.

This book kept my attention- I loved both Lottie and Tuck’s voices...the other ones were a bit odd but the story was a fun one and has lots of twists and turns!
